However, at times it can get repetitive and no sane person likes walking on a treadmill for hours on end. So what should you do? Well, firstly you need to understand the two main types of cardio. These two main types are HIIT & LISS - or High Intensity Interval Training & Low Intense Steady State cardio. This video is a prime example of HIIT and how diverse the exercise implementation can be. A very simple example of LISS cardio is going for a brisk walk at a continuos pace. Both types are great and one isn’t inherently better than the other. They just serve different purposes, and which one you choose will depend on your goals, circumstances and personal preferences. So, which one should you go with? The one I’d recommend the most for performance benefits is HIIT. All day every day! There is simply way more benefits from a performance and time saving perspective in doing HIIT. However, the real answer is that you should do the cardio that you WILL do! Because at the end of the day that is what’s most important.
